Staff Bio's

Deb

I have been sewing since I was 11 years old.  I LOVE fabric!!!  My quilting adventure started in 1995 when I bugged my friend Glenda to teach me to quilt.  She’s been quilting for over 50 years!!!  I learned to hand quilt so this is my first love, however I did begin long arm machine quilting in 2011 when I began a business with another friend.  I love traditional pieced patterns and reproduction prints.

I never in a million years imagined I would own a quilt shop!!!  But here I am.  I do believe it is where the good Lord wants me to be.  He opened the doors and windows to make it happen.  By His good grace and our hard work we hope and pray we can make it all work.  We will do our best and look forward to serving your quilting needs.

Liz

I worked for Joann Fabrics for 2 years which provided me with experience dealing with customers, fabrics and notions.  I have been working at Simply Stashing Fabric & Quilts from the very beginning.  I began quilting in 2014 and have completed over 20 quilt tops.  Making quilts for Project Linus has been a great way to hone my quilting skills.  I love contemporary, modern and art quilts!!!  I really like RJR and Moda fabrics.  It has been fun being part of the fabric ordering process and learning more about fabrics.

Tom

You will occasionally see Tom behind the counter, cutting fabric and waiting on customers.  Although he may not be able to answer all of your questions we REALLY appreciate his willingness to help.  He is our overall “handy man” and has built many custom fixtures for the shop.  We couldn’t do this without his support.  Tom LOVES denim and wants to someday make a denim quilt.

Andrew

You will rarely see Andrew in the shop or helping customers since he is “behind the scenes” and his main focus is Technical / Computer Support.  Andrew has always had an interest in computers and software programs, he has completed various computer courses at York Technical Institute in York, PA.  He is our overall computer specialist and has helped us design our business website, class / workshop schedules and brochures / flyers.

Sara

Just call me the “pre-cut” gal.  I LOVE color!  I have been putting together some Jelly Rolls and Charm Packs for the shop. You will also see me teaching in the classroom.

I have been quilting for 16 years now, but have been crafting things all my life.  I just LOVE to make things.  My mother gave me the quilting bug when she bought me my first sewing machine.  It was only 6 months later I needed an upgrade in machines.  I enjoy showing people new things and I'm a teacher by trade.  I taught secondary mathematics until our first child was born, and now I'm teaching quilting.  What could be better than combining my two loves: teaching & crafting!

Helen

Helen has been quilting for 30 years.  She  enjoys trying out a variety of techniques and specializes in raw edge applique and machine quilting.  Helen makes quilts of all sizes but is fond of making table covers and hanging quilts with seasonal and holiday themes.   This year she had a quilt accepted  at the AQS Lancaster, PA Show. She teaches at  the shop and you may see her working behind the counter during special events.
